A study conducted by Yandex, a transnational corporation on Internet services, showed that this year Kazakhstanis were looking for different terms related to cryptocurrencies, several times higher than in 2017, the local zakon.kz news channel reported on March 2.
The study showed that the increase in interest began in June last year and grew in September, when the people of Kazakhstan asked Yandex more questions, such as “what is Bitcoin / Blockchain / ICO / mining?”. The study notes that “what is Bitcoin” was set most in December 2017, when Bitcoin’s price reached $ 20,000.
Other search queries popular in Kazakhstan include: “Can students work with Bitcoin?” “Bitcoin printing”, “what is Blockchain in simple words for dummies?” And “what services does the mining industry really pay?”
Yandex users in Kazakhstan used the word “cryptocurrency” in search 15 times more than in 2018 than in 2017, and they were looking for “graphics cards for production” 10 times more than a year earlier.
Kazakh users also only searched for Bitcoin 7 times more than at the beginning of last year, and 4 times more often looked for ICO this year along with various modifiers.
Last November, the Kazakhstan International Financial Center in Astana announced that they are interested in issuing cryptocurrency on the basis of fiat, CryptoTenge, after signing a deal with the Maltese financial broker. Also in November, it was reported that Kazakhstan is considering licensing the block-and-block Blockchain for promoting new technologies.
