Western Union has started testing payments based on Ripple technology

One of the world’s largest payment systems Western Union confirmed information that the company is testing the possibility of making payments based on Ripple technology. This is reported by Bloomberg.

According to Raj Agravala, the company’s financial director, the project is only at the initial stage and is not considered as a key element of the Western Union business.

The company also did not specify which solution from Ripple Western Union uses – xCurrent or xRapid, which involves a lot of investors interested in the cryptocurrency XRP.

Note that the statement of the representative of Western Union was soon after the publication of the company’s financial report. It notes that, unlike the profitable 2016, the 2017th company closed with a loss of $ 557 million.
