Jack Dorsey, CEO of Twitter and the payment service Square, said that he sees Bitcoin (BTC) as a world – and the Internet – the only future currency, reports The Times, today, March 21.
Dorsey believes that the leading advent of Bitcoin`s will “probably in ten years, but it can go faster”:
“The world will ultimately be a single currency, the Internet will be a single currency. I personally believe that it will be Bitcoin. “
At the end of February 2018, Dorsey had previously said that the square would focus on developing more opportunities to interact with Bitcoin through its Cash App, calling it “transformation technology for the industry.”
Dorsey pointed out to The Times that he does not believe that at the moment the BTC has the opportunity to become an effective monetary unit, namely, a means of exchange:
“It’s slow, and it’s expensive, but like more and more people, these things are disappearing.” There are new technologies that create blockchain and make it more accessible. “
Last week, Lightning Labs, the developer of Lightning Network (LN), released the first LN implementation that produces Bitcoin, which makes free and instant BTC transactions closer to reality. Dorsey participated in his 2.5 million round of seed financing, like the creator of Litecoin (LTC) Charlie Lee.
